Alpaca is Hypo-allergenic so people with wool sensitivities should find this yarn soft and able to be worn against the skin. It is a luxury fiber that is compassionately shorn from alpacas. Alpaca fleece is sustainable, and the animals are environmentally friendly. Each 1.75 oz / 50g ball is approx. 110 yards/100 meters. We suggest a US needle size of 5 to 7 (3.75 - 4.5 mm). Crochet hook suggested F to G (3.75 - 4.5 mm). Please purchase enough to complete your project as dyelots may change between orders. A typical hat will take about 2 balls, a scarf 3-5 and a sweater 9-15 depending on size. All suggestions are estimates and your project may require more or less yarn.
