Thornbush is written specifically for Floating, our luxuriously soft blend of alpaca, silk, and cashmere yarn with lots of drape and is designed to showcase the gorgeous ways natural dyes come together.
Written without seaming, Thornbush sweater starts with a center back lace panel and is worked out to the edge, where front and back are joined using the three-needle bind-off technique. The second side is then worked as for the first side. Because there are no seams, linen stitch is used to give the fabric and sweater overall structure.
In Romi's version, which is the sample shown and uses the Mountain Shadow palette, the gradient begins with the lightest color in the center and moves through the set of colors using linen stitch and garter stockinette stitch striping to fade beautifully through the range to the darkest color.
In the two new color combinations we have created, Purple Sage and Canyon, we envision them starting with the darkest color for the back lace panel, and moving to the lightest color. That being said, both ways will look stunning. So use the colors in whatever way makes you happy!
