I put this in a quilt (my search was for quilting fabric) and didn't realize it was a linen/cotton blend. It stretched very easily. It has texture to it that was perfect since I used it for one of the borders around a wolf panel.I used this fabric to make a romper for my baby. I washed and put through the drier before using and it did shrink but I expected that. It was really nice to sew with and I love the colour of it.The fabric is very light it’s what I expected it’s excellent quality and a very light materialI made 6 napkins out of 2 yards. They ended up just over 18” after 1” hem. Price is better than anything I can find locally. Easy to cut, easy to sew. Wife and I LOVE them. They have a real heft to them. This cotton linen blend is a dream to sew. I am very pleased with it as my choice to pair with the patchwork pieces I used to construct this shirt. The fabric has the appearance of a medium weight denim, but with a more elegant drape. I pre-washed the fabric, knowing it would most likely have considerable shrinkage. I ordered 3 yards that measured 110 inches and after a cool wash and medium heat in dryer, it yielded 106 inches. I will only cold water wash and hang dry the shirt for future, to ensure no additional shrinkage. The weight of the fabric is heavier than an Oxford Cloth, so it is better to consider it as a lightweight denim for selecting your project. It is just heavy enough for a lightweight pant. I chose to use a contrasting top stitch, using off-white thread, since this weave is both blue and white. You will need to finish any seams with a zig zag, as all weaves will fray.I suggest ordering more fabric than you need for one project, because you will definitely find use for this fabric in more than one project.I found the price to be excellent for a linen blend.I will undoubtedly order more in some other colors.BTW....I have been sewing for almost 45 years.I ordered a deep red Cinnamon color and received the "Spice" option, which is a warm brown, and now Cinnamon is unavailable. I'm guessing they actually ran out of Cinnamon without updating the site, and someone just sent me Spice and called it good. If they had reached out to me I could have made a different selection.I needed the product on a time-sensitive basis, so I will have to make do with this color, but I am pretty disappointed as I had based a lot of aspects of my project around the color I ordered. The fabric itself is of good quality, so I do recommend it as long as you're sent the correct color.Fabric is everything I had hoped it would be. I've purchased several Essex yar dyed linens in the past, have never regretted it.Decent fabric for the price, but I’ve washed and soaked it in hot water with my regular detergent about 10-12 times and the wash water is still not clear, plenty of blue dye still to come out before I can dry it and make it into some clothing. Still a bright and beautiful blue color, though for the amount of effort it’s taking to get it to a useable state, I wouldn’t purchase it a second time. Maybe others getting this fabric from a different batch/bolt might have better luck?
